Hotel Pontechiesa

The hotel is old, but clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast could be a lot better. It’s an 8-minute walk to downtown.

Hotel Pontechiesa is a lovely family-run place, and every staff member made us feel welcome, like part of the family. Emanuela went out of her way to help and gave us great advice. Breakfast was generous, just right before a day of hiking. Our room and bathroom were clean and cozy, and the water pressure was great. There’s a beautiful little stream right beside the hotel. I’d definitely come back if I get the chance!

We spent three nights here and had a wonderful time. Our balcony looked out over the river and mountains, and the room was clean and cozy. Check-in was quick and easy, and all the staff were friendly and ready to answer questions. They also pointed us toward a few nearby spots with great views. We really enjoyed the hotel's sauna, which has a Finnish sauna, steam room and a shower with different settings, including tropical rain and cool breeze. Beside it is a small gym with a bench press, treadmill and exercise bike. The hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with fresh, tasty buffet food as well as à la carte dishes, and there's a bar that's always available. We were pleasantly surprised by how convenient the location was: five minutes on foot to the cable cars up the mountain, a little shop nearby, and a 10-minute walk to the town center.

The room was large, clean and had nice mountain views. I didn't feel very welcome for some reason. The staff seemed kind of suspicious and were watching all the time :) Breakfast was quite poor, and we didn't like it. The location is okay, about a 10-minute walk from downtown.
