Trieste

I was grateful for how kindly they handled a stressful situation when I arrived and they couldn't find my third-party booking. That was the third party's fault, but they still let me book a room at a discounted rate, even though they didn't know it was my birthday. I had to leave a couple of days early, but I'd gladly stay again. The room had a great view and comfortable bed, and dinner was delicious.

Six of us stayed for a week in January 2025 and found the hotel very pleasant and extremely well run. Rooms were warm and comfortable, the restaurant was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Ronnie and his team were welcoming and informative, and Ronnie's wine advice is well worth asking for. It's a little outside Cortina, around a 10-12 minute walk into town, and not near any ski lifts. That's the only drawback. We had a lovely stay.

We could hear some of our noisier neighbours through the thin walls, but our room itself was warm and comfortable, with plenty of storage. The mountain views from the balcony, dining area and lounge were spectacular. The style felt cozy, warm and sophisticated, like a considered country home. Loved it x Trieste is close to town, restaurants, bars, cafes and ski hire. The ski bus stops opposite, and there's a good boot room. Breakfast was nice, though service felt just adequate from tired, grumpy and overworked staff. We got a good, informative welcome at first, but that faded as the stay went on. Maybe staff were exhausted at the end of ski season, or maybe it was just us. We still had a nice stay. Thanks for the ice packs.

The family running the hotel were great and very friendly. I stayed three nights, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with the best scrambled eggs and bacon I've ever had. In the evenings I enjoyed a few delicious Venetian spritz, recommended by the barman. It's a short walk to the centre and about ten minutes to the gondola for skiing. Great stay!
