Villa Di Piazzano

The grounds are beautiful, and dinner was a real bright spot, with an excellent menu and wait staff. But the service didn’t consistently feel like a 5-star experience, and the property seemed closer to 4-star by that measure. I’ve stayed at many 5-star hotels around the world, and some parts of this stay fell short. At breakfast, we had to look for the wait staff ourselves. They also didn’t clearly explain which options beyond the buffet were included. There was a billing issue, and Chiara at the front desk was unhelpful and unprofessional. Zoe first tried to help, but said Chiara would need to take over. When Chiara did, she rolled her eyes and raised her voice. Despite us asking more than once, she wouldn’t give us the manager’s name. Zoe, on the other hand, was very kind and did her best to assist us. I’d give the stay 3/5. -Janneth Bands + Sergio

The meals were some of the best I’ve had in Italy, and the wine pairings were just as good. Each dish felt special, and the service was warm, attentive, and personal. By the time we left, it felt like we’d made real friends among the staff. At Villa di Piazzano, our room was luxurious and thoughtfully equipped with every amenity, even an iron, which had been a problem at other hotels on our trip. The views were breathtaking, and the pool was a wonderful place to unwind. Our stay was unforgettable. If I return to the region, I’d 100% stay here again. Highly recommended for a mix of luxury, relaxation, and authentic Italian hospitality.

The restaurant impressed us so much on the first night that we chose to eat there every evening. We spent three wonderful nights at the villa, where the palace is magnificent and the service impeccable. Five stars in every respect, especially for the amazing, welcoming staff. We’ll come back!

Cortona is a lovely nearby town, and the location and villa are breathtaking. We stayed for our honeymoon, and it felt like a dream come true. The staff were friendly and personable while staying professional, and did everything they could to make us happy. The food was amazing, breakfast was great, and they did their best to accommodate several allergies. We also loved the massage. A few things could be better: noise between rooms, shower temperature consistency, and having to repeat orders. I understand the building is older. Even so, this was exceptional, and I’d strongly recommend it to anyone after a dreamy luxury trip. Mr and Mrs Perry.
