Paradiso della Bici

The area is beautiful and the location is excellent, but we left disappointed. The place has potential, yet the reviews on Booking.com and Google gave us a very misleading impression. We booked at the last minute and trusted you. Next time, we’ll take your advice and stay in a hotel. The building felt very dated and cold. We had to ask for the heating to be turned on for the evening, and I think it ran for only an hour and a half. After we went out for New Year’s Eve dinner, the bedroom was freezing when we got back. There were no blankets suited to the cold, just two separate fleece throws. The bed was uncomfortable and the room wasn’t soundproofed. Breakfast was very minimal. There was milk left over from previous guests, and there were other things I’d rather not mention.

The apartment was a great place to stay despite last week’s very high temperatures. It was spotless, and the owners are wonderful people. Simonetta was flexible about our needs and let us use the kitchen and second bed. The location worked perfectly for us, close to the Valtellina trail, the Gerola Valley, and the center of Morbegno. We’d come back if Simonetta will have us!

A peaceful, clean place that’s been well looked after. Mrs. Simonetta was cheerful and very friendly. It’s a great starting point for lovely excursions nearby. Breakfast was Italian.

Simonetta, the owner, is very kind and ready to help with anything. The ground-floor apartment is just outside Morbegno, which suited me as a cyclist. The bike path is only 50 meters away, heading toward Sondrio and Tirano in one direction, and Colico and Lecco in the other. From there, you can reach the Val Chiavenna bike path, which goes on to the Swiss border.
