Cremona Palace Hotel

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the bed was clean and comfortable, though the pillows felt hard. We stayed three nights as a group in January. The rooms are large and clean, and most have balconies. Breakfast is standard continental fare, with cold meats, cheese, a little fruit and a couple of cereals. The pastries were the best part, lots of croissants, cakes and other treats. The juice was a bit watery, but the coffee was good. There’s a fantastic restaurant about a 15-minute walk away, Antica Costese. We’d stay here again.

The first day brought several power cuts, and there was no emergency light in the room, which was a shame. The staff were kind and helpful, though. Otherwise, it’s a lovely hotel, modern, clean and spacious, with tasteful decor and a very comfortable covered balcony. Breakfast was plentiful and good.

We stopped here for a night on the way home, the three of us as a family. The room was spacious and clean, with a huge bathroom and terrace, and the staff welcomed us and were helpful. The pool area looked huge and beautiful, but we didn’t have time to explore it. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

The restaurant next door is excellent, with very good food that I can recommend without reservation. The hotel itself has a lot of potential, and the staff are very friendly and listen when guests raise problems, but unfortunately nothing gets done afterward. I stayed at the Cremona Palace Hotel for 10 weeks on business. I’ve stayed in plenty of places on work trips, so I’m probably more patient than most, but this was too much. The rooms weren’t well maintained. Some sockets didn’t work, the lighting was far too dim, and the shower head was so disgusting it had to be replaced. The bathroom ventilation didn’t work either, humidity built up, and vermin spread. The air conditioning either didn’t work or was restricted by the hotel to 28°C, so the nights were unbearable. The “free Wifi” became unusable when more than five guests were staying. When I asked whether it could be improved, the hotel manager told me to “leave the room door open.” Thanks for the tip, but I didn’t want everyone looking into my room. Laundry took several days, which wasn’t a problem since I always bring enough clothes. But each wash came back with one less item. To be fair, it was mostly socks and underpants, nothing especially expensive, but it was still annoying.
