It’s clean, and the quiet sleep and natural beauty are hard to spoil. But our neighbors came over at night and talked loudly while we were trying to sleep. The landlady didn’t seem to mind. Breakfast was coffee and cookies, and as soon as we left, she started cleaning the room. It really felt like we weren’t welcome. I won’t be back.

There are great hiking options around the Tortona hills, with villages and towns nearby, including the home of Fausto Coppi. The apartment is lovely, run as a family B&B, and the hill views are beautiful. The “Le Valli Unite” agricultural community is close by too.

We thought we were renting a cheap little shack out in the countryside, but ended up with a whole house to ourselves and gorgeous views.

So peaceful out among the greenery of the Tortona hills. A beautiful villa in a wonderfully quiet setting.
