The mountain setting is lovely, and the Courmayer Skyway funicular is about a five-minute walk away. We also appreciated the hotel's own garage downstairs. You can book a space ahead and keep your car free of snow. The rooms were warm, comfortable, clean, and fresh-smelling, and everyone working there was polite and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice, with fresh products, pastries and bread just baked. We tried the walk with animals and the aperitivo at the hotel, which we really enjoyed. Thanks for such a warm weekend. It was worth the money, and we'd come back.

Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice, and the staff made the coffee with whichever milk you wanted. The room had all the essentials and fresh bed linens, and the bar stays open until 11 p.m. There’s a free bus transfer not far from the hotel into Courmayeur’s center, while the gondola to Helbronner is about a five-minute walk away. It’s a lovely place for animal lovers, though the animals do mean a few flies can get in. I also found it strange and uncomfortable as a foreigner when they asked to keep my passport or ID for paperwork, so I waited until I could get it back.

The bar service was excellent, and breakfast was decent. Rooms have a rustic feel, the Wi-Fi is unreliable, and the bathrooms are good by European standards, though small by American ones. There were lots of flies around because of the animals, and some of the animals are very assertive.

The scenery is incredible, and the rooms were very comfortable. Hotel la Grange is a must visit, with staff who are truly passionate about the hotel and its friendly animals. It’s an experience like no other.

We loved getting to meet Isa, who manages the bar and check-in, and practice our Italian with her. I’ve visited Courmayeur five times, and this was my first stay in this part of town, about two miles from the center. It’s stunning here and much nicer than the city center. Hotel la Grange is beautiful, with lots of historic antiques and furniture that make it feel like stepping back in time.
