Relais Villa Bonifacio

The room was spotless, huge, and had all the comforts you could want. The owners were lovely, always kind and ready to help. And that view! A fantastic spot in Diamante to relax and enjoy the beauty of the place. I recommend it.

We came by motorcycle, and they kindly let us park behind the gate. The room was new, clean, roomy, and comfortable, with a balcony and somewhere to dry swimsuits and towels, which was handy so close to the sea. Breakfast on the outdoor terrace came with a sea view. Giambattista was discreet, kind, and always available, and his parents were the same. The villa sits above Diamante. We'd gladly stay again if we're nearby. Thanks so much!

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and practical, and the family was warm and helpful. There’s a grassy area with trees, or you can have breakfast on the terrace with its fantastic view. The villa above Diamante has beautiful views and sunsets, and there's a pool too. We had a very pleasant stay.

At Relais Villa Bonifacio, the biggest concern for me was security. There’s no outside gate on the lower side, where an ungated, unfenced flight of stairs leads straight to the building, so anyone passing by could get in. The main gate at the top doesn’t help much either, since the low wall to its left could be climbed even by a child. The owners were another issue. The woman was at least courteous, greeting us and making some small talk. The young man, whom I later learned from reviews is called Gianbattista, was exceptionally rude. He showed little courtesy or people skills, especially over our dog. I had been told dogs were allowed, and the dog was under my supervision, but when he saw him wandering around, he frowned and told me to keep him under control for the other guests’ peace of mind. There was just one other couple staying there, and they seemed perhaps even happier than we were to see the dog out and about. Later, the dog unfortunately did his business in the garden. It looked unpleasant and reflected badly on how a dog is looked after, but accidents can happen in a garden. I picked it up immediately, it wasn’t left there for hours. Gianbattista still gave me a lecture at check-in about how disgusting it was to find it and how I hadn’t watched my dog. His reaction was the worst part of the incident. Communication from the hosts was basically nonexistent. A problem with the pool motor meant I couldn’t use the pool for three days, almost until I left. Nobody told me. I only found out when I noticed the water level dropping and asked what was going on. Breakdowns happen, and I understand that, but it was still a real inconvenience, especially given the villa’s location. Mornings in the mountains are probably warmer than in the valley. The pool was included in my price, yet there was no reduction, no alternative, and not even an apology. The cleaning and supplies weren’t good either. I’m no expert, but the floor was wet as if it had just been wiped with a wet rag, the windows were filthy, toilet paper was rationed like supplies in the military, and the coffee capsules only appeared on the first day. I’d rather not get into the rest. I can’t disagree with the idea that running a business is an art that not everyone has. I don’t like stereotypes, but Relais Villa Bonifacio made that point very clearly.
