We stayed in May and will definitely be back. This place deserves more than five stars, and we’re making an exception to our usual no-review habit. It’s clean and made for relaxing, with a pool and that classic Tuscan mountain view. Firenze and the natural beauty of Foreste Casentinesi national park are nearby for outings. The owners, Stefano and Lisa, make you feel right at home, and we feel lucky to have met them. If you enjoy Italian food, Celle80 Bistrot is also a treat.

The Old Barn Apartment was immaculate and spacious, with everything we needed and thoughtful details throughout. The on-site restaurant served a delicious meal at a great price, and this property became the highlight of our summer in Europe. Even months later, I still think about our three-day stay and recommend Il Borgo di Villa Cellaia to anyone visiting Tuscany. The views were breathtaking, and the homely, fresh Italian breakfast set a lovely tone. Despite arriving late because of transport problems, Stefano welcomed us warmly, showed us to our charming apartment, insisted on carrying my large suitcase, and explained everything we needed to know. He, Lisa, and their children checked during the day if they could help, and even drove us down the hill to the train station when we left. Just note, the driveway is very long and you definitely need a car.

Set on the hillside above Dicomano, where the Tour de France passed by, this beautiful, well-cared-for Borgo combines modern comforts with historic details. There’s a saltwater pool you can float in, spacious comfortable rooms with thoughtful little touches, incredible views, and friendly, sincere people running the place. The restaurant is worth returning to, and the wine selection has clearly been chosen with passion. They also gave me really good suggestions for exploring the area. Strongly recommend!

We loved the peaceful surroundings and the delicious local food, and the restaurant on site is superb. Our attic apartment was charming and spacious, with breathtaking views over the Tuscan countryside. Lisa, Stefano, and their family made us feel like part of their Tuscan family, going out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Their suggestions for local activities and places to eat were spot on.

We had a great time here. Stefano is so welcoming, and the apartment and facilities, including the pool and patio, are excellent. We’ll come back :)
