We had a great time and enjoyed every minute. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed, with very comfortable beds. Shops, cafes and restaurants were all close by, and the staff were kind and welcoming. We especially liked the varied, tasty four-course dinner, and spent a lot of time enjoying the pool and sauna areas. Thanks to the warm staff for making the stay even nicer. We can't wait to come back.

The room was good value, and the food, setting and location were all nice. Still, one staff member made us feel unwelcome during this odd one-night stay. We arrived to a friendly check-in and a hotel with its own charm. The room was spacious and clean, with a modern bathroom. When we went to the spa, we realized there were no towels or robes, so we went downstairs to ask. A woman was speaking with someone, and we waited until she was finished. There was a language barrier, but she eventually said, “towels from room,” then walked away. We figured that might explain it. After a long hike, we chose the dinner option for convenience. The five courses started well, arriving promptly and tasting very nice. At dessert, the same woman, who was also serving, brought my partner's first. She then served more and more desserts to other tables, but not to me. I waited as she served over ten people, including a table of four beside us, and then chatted with them. We tried to get her attention without success. When she finally responded and we politely asked whether there'd been a mistake and she thought I didn't want dessert, she said “yes, yes, yes” in a seemingly disinterested way, then brought mine. Maybe it was all due to the language barrier, but we didn't run into that problem anywhere else.

We arrived exhausted after a long trip and were told the hotel was full, even though I'd booked directly on their website, received an email confirmation, and had been told to pay at the hotel. They hadn't asked for a deposit, and the booking had free cancellation until a stated date. The woman at the hotel said that because I booked far ahead, the reservation wasn't valid and I should have known to call and reconfirm. I've booked accommodation well in advance around the world and never had this happen. There was no apology or effort to help us, and instead we were blamed. Hotel Cristalo, across the street, was also full but helped us find another place. Hotel Simpaty was fabulous, with clean, beautiful rooms and a great location right across from the local bus, including the one we needed for Lago Di Brais. I recommend avoiding this hotel in case you get stranded like we did. It would've been better if they had admitted their mistake and helped.

The owner and staff were a pleasure to deal with, very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room, the location was great, and both breakfast and dinner were amazing. A real gem.
