Assiolo Relais

Between the vineyards, high on a hill in beautiful Piemonte, we found a gorgeous pool with a view to die for. Daniela made us feel completely at home, and breakfast each morning came with wonderful pastries and coffee. Grazie mille Daniela. We hope to see you, your daughter, and your father again next time. Meeting Daniela’s father and one of her friends, and getting a tour of her beautiful home, made the evening feel especially personal. She was so welcoming, and clearly loves sharing her home, culture, and passion for food. We made delicious homemade pasta and dessert, with wine and appetizers along the way. The cozy, intimate atmosphere felt like cooking with a family friend instead of attending a formal class. If you’re in the Piedmont region, I can’t recommend it enough. Amazing food, lovely company, and Italian hospitality. A true 10/10, and one of the best parts of my trip.

Making tajerin, antipasto, and bunet with Daniela turned into a beautiful day. Her easygoing manner and the informal class soon had us feeling at ease. We enjoyed what we’d cooked in a large room and tasted local wines. Daniela is a welcoming, capable young woman who has beautifully renovated an old country house. It has three rooms with modern, tasteful bathrooms, as do the outbuildings. Outside there’s a lovely garden, pool, and sauna, with views across the whole Alpine range. Our weekend went by too quickly, but we’ll definitely return to stay and perhaps learn some other dishes. The Langhe was a wonderful discovery, with beautiful places, excellent food, and excellent wine.

Breakfast was a real highlight, plentiful and authentic, with local products served in a lovely setting. Daniela was kind, attentive, and full of useful suggestions for places to see and eat nearby. The countryside setting at L'Assiolo Relais is peaceful and comfortable, with beautiful views, especially from the pool and sauna, and thoughtful details throughout. It’s a good base for exploring Dogliani and the region, with villages, cultural spots, and natural attractions just minutes away. A relaxing, authentic, beautiful place to stay. Highly recommended.
