Villa Ducale

The rooms were clean and tidy, and for an acceptable price Villa Ducale is a great way to enjoy a Venetian era villa. It’s excellent value if you want to spend the night in an old villa. There are areas the owners could improve: the common spaces and surroundings need more attention to cleaning and maintenance, perhaps with a robotic vacuum. Breakfast could be excellent, but we noticed they sometimes serve fruit from the previous day. Fresh bread would be better than packaged toast. The villa is a hidden gem, and more information about its history would help guests appreciate it.

The team was wonderful with us. We arrived around 1 a.m. and they waited without any fuss. They kept answering us the next day too, and when we missed the last bus, they offered to collect us from Venice at 1:20 a.m. for less than a regular taxi. We also happened to be there during a bikers' event, where food and drinks were free and unlimited. This is an old villa with real history. Some people seem to complain about the antique chairs or the original floors, but those things are part of what makes it distinctive. We had a great time, and everyone on the team was kind and keen to make our stay a good one. We were very happy with the service and would highly recommend it.

We chose this hotel after spending the day in Venice, since it was cheaper, had free parking, and was an easy place to stop before moving on the next day. Venice is about a 30-minute drive away. There are also a few good restaurants within walking distance. The building and its history are incredible. My wife felt like a princess walking down the grand spiral staircase, and we both liked its old-fashioned character. Our room had air conditioning, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was a nice buffet. There was plenty of parking too. The only small issue was that half of the toilet flush button was missing. It didn't affect how much we enjoyed our stay, and we'd definitely come back.

The breakfasts were delicious, and our room was huge and airy, with two double beds. During our week there, they changed the linen sheets a few times and cleaned the room very thoroughly. That's no small thing in a historic building like this. It was my first stay at the villa, and I loved it.
