Villa Vinicia

We booked the villa for a 30th birthday with 25 people, including 20 adults and five children. Jimmy and Sonia were friendly and helpful at first, but within two days we’d been told several times to keep the noise down. There was even a complaint at 4pm because the children were playing too loudly in the pool. With a big group and young kids, keeping quiet was almost impossible. After three days and two nights, half our group was told to leave. Luckily, we found another villa at short notice, but it left us pretty much out of pocket, since we were charged for the full night on the day we had to move. It made for a really awful atmosphere. We were tiptoeing around, afraid of making noise, the children couldn’t use the pool, and everyone was whispering. If noise was going to be a problem, the villa shouldn’t have accepted such a large family booking with children.

A nice spot for visiting the Domaso area, with very friendly staff who’ll even offer to do your supermarket shopping. It’s very bicycle friendly, too. There’s a pleasant backyard with an above-ground pool and a jacuzzi. The pool is fine for a quick dip, but don’t expect an Olympic-sized one.

Sonia made us feel welcome and was a huge help. The barbecue area was excellent, and they provided all the tools we needed. The location was great, with private parking nearby. We couldn’t have asked for better accommodation for our vacation!

The owners are especially friendly and give guests plenty of freedom, with no unnecessary rules. There’s a comfortable sense of trust. They also keep a small self-service shop by reception, with things like Magnum Ice-creams, sweets, milk, water, coffee, and beer at reasonable prices. You leave the money in a basket, and that trust really added to our experience. A great idea. The apartment is well equipped, and both bedrooms are fine. The double bedroom is especially large and comfortable. The kitchen has everything, though a microwave would be a useful addition. The building has some history, but it’s been renovated thoughtfully to suit modern needs. For example, the apartment doors are over 100 years old. The downside is access: there’s no lift, and parking is 200m away, followed by an uphill walk to the apartments. Still, that’s part of the story when you choose a place like Villa Vinicia.
