B&B I Colori di Chia

We’d booked well ahead, on 9/10, and were really looking forward to our trip to Chia. Then, less than 24 hours before our planned 15/10 check-in, the owner cancelled. We had no time to find another place, and there was no explanation or apology. It was a very unpleasant experience, and we can’t recommend that attitude.

A good base for visiting several beaches. Everything was clean and nice, everyone was really friendly, and breakfast was good.

That first-floor room and its large balcony worked so well for our family on a two-night cycling trip with small kids. The views were gorgeous, and the balcony was sheltered when it got windy. We enjoyed sitting out there while the kids played. Irma was welcoming and wonderful with them, and the whole place was clean and well cared for.

Our triple room was small and had nowhere convenient for our suitcases. We knew when booking that it had no balcony, but we weren’t told it was on the ground floor or basement, facing a dirt wall. It felt dark and uncomfortable, especially compared with the brighter upstairs rooms, which have terraces. The drying rack was outside the bathroom window, with no screen, so mosquitoes often came in when we hung up our swimsuits and towels. Those details weren’t mentioned when I asked the owner about the room. We paid far too much for what we got. Breakfast was just okay, with a defrosted croissant, a small piece of tart or cake or a biscuit, yogurt or juice, bread with the usual single-serve jams, coffee that wasn’t very good, and cappuccino. There was no savory food or water on the table, though Mrs. Irma would bring us a glass when we asked. The B&B itself is nice, but be careful about choosing a room without a balcony or terrace. And don’t be late checking out.
