Baia di Chia Resort Sardinia, Curio Collection by Hilton

The resort sits near some of the best beaches in southern Sardinia, with a relaxed, private feel and a touch of luxury. Getting between rooms and amenities can mean walking uphill, but the setting and privacy make that worthwhile. Our rooms were modern and well maintained, with terraces that took in the natural surroundings. We had wide views over the beaches and the Mediterranean Sea. The front desk staff were outstanding, and the cart service up and down the paths ran reliably. There isn’t much easy to reach beyond the beaches, though the onsite restaurants more than made up for that with excellent food and service.

The restaurant was excellent at both breakfast and dinner, and the local wines were superb. The secluded beach was fantastic, while the pool was attractive and conveniently close to the bar and rooms. It’s a beautifully situated boutique hotel, with Sardinia’s countryside and sunshine all around. Access to the spa is at the neighboring hotel, and a golf buggy can take you there.

There’s a nice pool, two clay tennis courts, and two padel courts, plus a restaurant, bar, and market near Reception. Most rooms sit up in the hills and look out over the bay and sea. A couple of things could be better: hot water temperature wasn’t steady in some rooms, and the air conditioning was either full blast or off, with no working temperature controls.

The rooms felt private and intimate, with lots of space, spotless, and beautiful views by day and night. Flowers are everywhere around the property. It’s spread out, so you can use a golf cart to get to and from your room, or walk for a bit of exercise. The hotel has its own beach areas with spaced-out reserved chairs and beach service. The pool is large, and restaurants, shops, a pharmacy, and bars are over by the sister property. In-room dining impressed us, both the food and the great service. They also clear the trays quickly when you leave them outside. The local staff shared a ton of suggestions we might not have found on our own, and everyone we dealt with made our stay better. You can drive to other properties and towns for dinner. We loved it enough that we’re already planning to come back next year!
