Albergo Garni Martina

The place was clean, which was the one real plus. The bathroom in our room looked like it dated from the 1970s, and the shower was tiny and barely worked. We got one little bottle of soap and one small Etta soap for the sink. The spa was cold, and using the hot tub cost €15. The Turkish bath smelled unpleasant and barely worked, with steam only up high. No slippers or bathrobes were provided. There were three showers, plus another in a cave. Breakfast was just sweet items, and very limited. For what they offer, it's extremely expensive, and communication with customers was poor.

We felt uncomfortable and cheated here, which has never happened during our many years of spending Ferragosto week in Trentino. I normally avoid leaving negative reviews, but my partner and I both had a bad stay. The room we were given was nothing like the attractive ones in the photos. It was cramped, on the ground floor facing the street, had no air conditioning, and didn't justify the high price. The bathroom had no window or ventilation, and there was a big dusty hole in it. The shower was dirty and clogged when we arrived, the bedside light was broken, the towels were frayed, and there was no mini-fridge. Breakfast had nothing savory and no fresh fruit. The owners' response made things worse. We got no welcome, and when I politely asked about the bedside bulb, nobody acted on it. At checkout, nobody asked how the stay had been. When we explained why it wasn't pleasant, the irritated owner didn't react. I calmly said the bulb hadn't been replaced or a courtesy lamp provided, and instead of an apology, he said, “What do you want? We forgot!”

The breakfast was generous, though entirely sweet with nothing savory. Our room was comfortable and reasonably clean, apart from a lot of dust beneath the bed. It had an ensuite shower and a balcony facing the mountains, and parking was available outside the hotel. Pinzolo's center is about a five-minute walk away.

It was a lovely, quiet spot, and breakfast was excellent. Our clean room had no chair, and the bathroom needed maintenance. Even though we were near the Genova Valley, we were really hot, which was a shame.
