Albergo Dongo

What stayed with us most was how Lara and her team helped us through a crisis. Their kindness and care made a difficult moment into a story of gratitude and human connection we'll never forget. They also made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Albergo Dongo welcomed us warmly from the start. The rooms were cozy and spotless, with beautiful views of Lake Como. We loved the restaurant too, especially the delicious pizza and authentic Italian food, prepared with love and served so warmly. If you're visiting Lake Como, I can't recommend Albergo Dongo highly enough. It's a real experience of Italian hospitality. Grazie mille, Lara & team! ❤️

The food was okay, and the location is lovely, but our wedding anniversary meal ended on a disappointing note. We waited perhaps 30 minutes for menus and were ignored while other people who arrived after us were already ordering. They were busy, but about 20% of the tables were still open. The food came quickly, but nobody checked if we needed anything until a waitress came over to borrow our salt shaker for another table. Also, dogs are allowed inside, and plenty of guests had brought theirs. It can get very boisterous when several start barking at once as a truck goes by.

What stood out on my visits was the food. The pizza was beautifully made and nicely balanced, and the seafood pasta was fresh with a rich, savory flavor. The menu has a good range of options for different tastes. The restaurant sits right on the lake, with breathtaking views that made the meals even better. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and the overall experience. Dining here was consistently a highlight of my time in Dongo, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Breakfast was outstanding, with so many options that there should be something for everyone. We loved our three nights here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the room was fantastic and clean, with an amazing bathroom and lots of toiletries. It was cleaned every day, and the big balcony had a lovely lake view. I highly recommend staying here.
