Relais Parco Cavalonga

Please save your money and stay somewhere else. I'd read reviews saying the garden needed some care and the flies needed controlling. Both comments understated the problem. Our garden-view area was mostly mud, dirt and dead grass, while the grounds looked like they hadn't been maintained in months, overgrown with weeds or dead. Flies swarmed and landed on us everywhere, even at the pool, during breakfast and on the balcony. Being outside was gross and not enjoyable. They need to fumigate if they're going to offer people a decent stay. The egg situation was awful too. We asked for soft-boiled eggs and got them completely raw, whites and all. After waiting 20 minutes for replacements, we left. The doors have a special way of closing that nobody explained at check-in, so we couldn't lock ours for a day. When we asked for help, they said they hadn't shown us because we'd arrived late at night. We got there at 4 pm, so that was a lame excuse. There was no bathroom trash can, and I'm glad I didn't have my period. There were no alternatives to pork for anyone eating halal or vegan. There was no phone signal in the surrounding area, and the Wi-Fi was spotty, so we couldn't call restaurants to make dinner reservations. There are plenty of better-maintained places where you'll have a better time.

The room and pool both had beautiful views, and I would recommend this place. We had a really nice stay at Relais Parco Cavalonga, surrounded by nature. The staff were lovely and accommodating, even putting together a breakfast box for us to take away at the last minute.

We stayed in Apartment-suite Ibla. It's large, bright and nicely renovated, with bathrooms and AC that worked well. The park is wonderful, in my opinion a great mix of cared-for and wild. The two pools were well maintained though not new, had great views and were never too crowded while we were there. Staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The apartment's kitchen is barely usable. Its old hob has four slow hot plates and four knobs, with no warning lights for hot plates and no diagram showing which knob controls which plate or which direction to turn it. There's no microwave and only one shelf for food. The living room has no cabinets either, though after we asked they gave us a plastic table that did the job. The laundry drying rack is tiny and not enough for six people, though clothes do dry quickly in 30C+ heat. The big-ticket things are all there, the spacious apartment, AC, pools and park. It still needs some extra work and money to reach the next level. I'd put it between three and four stars, but gave it four hoping these issues will be addressed soon. I emailed the hotel with all the points. I might come back, but it's not certain.
