Novella Italy

The hotel stay was bad, and the service and treatment were terrible. After I posted an honest review about the poor state of the hotel, the host contacted me on my personal number in a very intrusive and unacceptable way. The hostility and lack of respect were appalling. Even one star feels too generous. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

It’s expensive for such an old, dated place with terrible service. They should make it clear that four rooms or families share just one toilet. The floor was always soaking wet, and after someone slipped we suggested they provide a mop, but they refused. Florence is beautiful, but staying here put a cloud over our experience.

We were robbed. There was a lot wrong with this hotel: we were on the fourth floor, the heating barely worked properly, the windows didn’t close well, the toilets were very bad, and it was extremely noisy at night. On the second day we came back late and found items missing from our room. The owner blamed the cleaning staff and just said, “Sorry.” An experience to avoid.

We didn’t need to use the tram, even though there’s a stop right next to the accommodation, because the location made it easy to walk around Florence. The room and bathroom were clean. We never met the host in person, but she was very nice and quick to reply by email. I had a great stay and would come back if I return to Florence.
