Room Eleven

We stayed the weekend of February 3-4, 2024. The strategic location is the one real advantage. We paid €120 for a room that, with all these problems, was worth at most €60. Truly disappointing. I hope the hotel makes serious improvements so future guests have a better experience. The room description was misleading. The window supposedly looked onto a courtyard, but it was really a mini-cloister with a high wall opposite. The French window shutter wouldn't close properly, which made the lack of security worrying. The bedspread was spring-style and torn, despite it being the middle of winter, and there wasn't an extra blanket. The front desk couldn't help right away and told us to get one from another property 300 meters away. That was absurd and not the kind of service you'd expect. There was no privacy. We could hear our neighbor snoring, and that was it. In the hallway, a mountain of supposedly clean towels and toilet paper was piled on the console table. That lack of hygiene showed no concern for guests' well-being.

AWFUL. COMPLETE DISCRETION. I booked through eDreams, but the confirmation email went to spam. They expected me to contact them within 24 hours of arrival to get the access codes. Since I never saw the email, I didn't do that, but no one from the property thought to contact me either. When I arrived, I called and got no answer. No one reached out to confirm my arrival or check-in time. Every other property I've stayed at in Florence has done that. It's a matter of basic humanity: there could be a thousand reasons someone misses an email, and a confirmation from the property seems like the least they could do, especially since they're taking the money anyway.

The location is the hotel's only plus. Getting to your room means going through a series of steps that feels like a scam, and if you can't manage them, you call a number and nobody comes to help. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE HOTEL ⚠️: The shower screens need fixing. They don't fit properly, so water leaks out. My partner fell, and even with a towel, the floor stays wet and dangerous. Sorry, but I don't recommend it.

The key pickup was in the building across from the entrance to Teatro Verdi. Once I had checked in there, I could go into the accommodation. Its entrance is at the edge of the building and marked with the number 11.
