Palazzo Santa Caterina

The actual place felt much less lively than the photos, and the atmosphere and service had a strange, off feeling. The house itself is nice, with lovely antique furniture, but that's about it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the church bell carried into the room, and breakfast was very average. It saddens me to see how much potential the place has. We've had much better stays in Sardinia for this price.

We spent a couple of days in one of the smaller rooms. The house is huge and nicely decorated, with a rooftop terrace and other areas where you can relax. You can also cook something yourself if you want. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the price felt reasonable for the place. Breakfast was nice, if nothing special.

The rooms and shared spaces are elegantly designed, but we had a very unpleasant stay because of the noise. Staff warned us about rowdy young people at the bars outside, though we didn't expect things to carry on so late. Yelling and traffic continued until 2 a.m., then church bells jolted us awake at 7 and rang every 15 minutes. It felt like flying first class surrounded by crying babies. The owners clearly put a lot of thought into the design, which made the experience harder to take. I wouldn't stay here if a restful night is your main priority.

If you're after the feeling of an authentic Italian home, this is the place. Vintage style, a beautiful terrace, and an amazing view. The hosts were good too.
