Tenuta I Maroneri

For the low price, this little room was just right. It was clean too.

The room was huge, but it had clearly been neglected. We even found spiders and webs, and though the sheets were clean, they were covered in dog and cat hair, so we had to ask for them to be changed when we arrived. The manager seemed uninterested, and given that they knew our arrival date well in advance, a quick room check would have been welcome. Breakfast was nothing special, just fresh croissants and coffee. The pool was large, like the room, but not well maintained. The loungers beside it were old and dirty too. The bathroom was so bad I didn't dare take a shower. It's not on the lake, and €80 for this kind of stay felt like too much. The rooms have plenty of space, but they're neglected, and I won't pay €80 a night for this again. I'm sorry it turned out this way.

The beds were really comfortable, the pool was clean, and the owner was kind and helpful. We were happy with our stay since we only needed somewhere to sleep at night and spent the days visiting nearby towns. It's a very peaceful spot in the mountains, with just a few houses nearby. It stays cooler than the valley, which makes a noticeable difference. The rooms have the basics, though there's no minibar, air conditioning, or hairdryer, and breakfast doesn't have a lot of choice. There was a sweet option with croissants, jam, Nutella, apple tart or strudel, juice, coffee, and cereal, plus a savory one with ham, cheese, and bread. Everything was good, or, well, basically good. This place works well for short stays if you're easygoing about comforts, especially for women like us who sometimes look for luxury when we don't need it 😉

The view from the hotel is lovely, and the owner made us feel very welcome. He also turned out excellent wood-fired pizzas. Breakfast was plentiful and good. The rooms could use some improvements, particularly the beds, window coverings, and bathroom amenities.
