Portopiccolo Apartments

Reception staff gave us all the key information about this wonderful place, and we were given parking and access to the other facilities once we arrived. Our apartment was very clean, in a great location near the sea and PuroBeach, and had an amazing view. We had a really nice stay and I’ll be back soon!

It’s a beautiful place to unwind, and the drive from Salzburg is only about three hours. The rooms were clean and well looked after, and everything in this little world was amazing. I especially liked the beach club bar. It was cold, so we didn’t do much or go swimming, but I loved the place. I’d like to try it in summer.

I’d been here more than 15 times over the past two years, and had never had this kind of experience before. We booked through this site and tried to pay by card, but couldn’t. Usually I can pay by card when I make a reservation. An international bank transfer would take 2-3-4 days to arrive, so I had to book through Booking instead. After they saw that reservation, they called and told me to cancel it because I could pay by card at the property. I did as they asked. I sent my email address for the instructions to the wrong phone number because they hadn’t told me there was another one. When we arrived, we didn’t have a parking space at the number they’d given us. We left the car near the parking area after asking if it was okay, and were told yes, they’d sort it out as soon as possible. Then at the office, we were told we had to pay a 500 EUR deposit. I wouldn’t have had to do that with the Booking reservation, but I’d cancelled it because they asked me to. Our car was damaged by someone in the garage. I sent photos and details to their phone number and email, but got no reply. We went to the office because they still hadn’t answered the next day. We had 1175 EUR held by Booking, another 500 EUR held by them, and had to pay the full amount for four days before our stay. The car was damaged and they didn’t respond. We did everything they asked, but for a “luxury” place, the service level just wasn’t there. We had to go to the office every day because they couldn’t solve the problem. They said the damage wasn’t serious and they couldn’t do anything. On the last day, they said they could pay for it if we bought one somewhere. When we got home, the deposit still hadn’t been returned, although they’d said it would arrive in a day or two. After four days I had to write and ask them to send it back. They told me to check the information, but we’d already provided it. We bought one windshield wiper and sent the receipt, but they said we had to buy it at their address. They hadn’t told us that before we bought it. Never, never ever!!!!

We stopped by on Monday, September 30th, and the town seemed pretty quiet, with just one busy-looking cafe open. You get an hour of free parking in their garage. We had a quick look around and liked the way the place looked. It seems like it would be great for people into the yachting lifestyle. You can’t see the town from the road above, so you have to know it’s there.
