The housekeeper Maria made our stay especially nice. She’s welcoming and helpful, and makes remarkable breakfasts. We slept well in a comfortable bed, and the room had a modern en-suite bathroom. There’s no view from the room, but you get one as soon as you step out of the traditional mountain village house. Everything was brilliant.

We found the prices very affordable, and I’d recommend arriving by car. Residenza Forte in Olevano sul Tusciano, near Salerno, is a peaceful, beautiful place where the historic setting and modern touches come together. Each corner seems to tell a story, and the stay was unforgettable. Pontecagnano Airport (Amalfi Coast) is only a few kilometers away, while Paestum and its ancient Greek temples are also nearby. The Amalfi Coast and the Pompeii ruins are about an hour’s drive.

Signora Maria really made our holiday. She handled reception impeccably, made us a generous, delicious breakfast each morning with freshly cooked sweet and savory food, and suggested places to visit. The room was clean and comfortable, and the terrace has a magnificent view across the Gulf of Salerno. Residenza Forte sits in a charming part of Olevano sul Tusciano, in the Salitto area. Highly recommended.

Maria welcomed us like family and looked after us throughout the stay. She made a spectacular breakfast for our children every day, kept the room carefully clean and tidy, and was always available. She’s stayed in our hearts. The owner, although we didn’t meet in person, was kind and professional whenever we were in touch. The residence itself is historic and has been renovated with great care while keeping its original features. It spans several floors, with bright, spacious rooms, new bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Well done!

The view alone makes this experience worth trying. We stayed for a couple of days at the end of August, and everything was impeccable. The rooms and lobby were spotless, and Maria was lovely company, always available to answer questions and share information about the area. Breakfast was sumptuous, all made on site.
