Apartment Maria

It’s not fancy, but it worked perfectly well for a night. The lady was lovely and helpful, though she speaks Italian only. We chatted for at least half an hour with a translator. There was plenty of food, tea, coffee, and sweets available, and the kitchenette was equipped. She sent a video showing how to reach the accommodation and also gave us pointers on parking, eating, and shopping.

The apartment was clean and had what I needed, and its quiet location near the Duomo was good, though a little away from the city center. The landlady was very friendly and helped me sort out arrival and access, which was useful since I didn’t know the area. But there’s no parking, despite what Booking.com says. You have to find a spot wherever you can, and that can be hard at some times. Some spaces are paid, too. The bed was uncomfortable, and the small bedroom had a few minor issues with the false walls, which made hangers come loose easily.

At a great price, the owner provides a well-equipped apartment, even with a stovetop. It’s right beside the Duomo and only a few minutes on foot from the Belvedere. Water and snacks are put out in the morning, and there’s free Wi-Fi. The owner was welcoming and helpful.
