Podere Poggio Lupinaio

The place could be really nice: it's a large holiday home in a wonderfully quiet spot, with a spacious kitchen, terrace, pool, and beautiful furnishings. Practically perfect in many ways, but cleanliness is a problem. The bathroom showers and the pool were dirty, and we found some truly awful things left by previous guests in the bedroom. The mattresses are old, too. If the owner gets the cleaning under control, it could be very nice. As it is, I can only give it three stars.

It's about a half-hour drive to the sea, with Capalbio's lovely beaches and the Tarot Garden, which is a must-see, as well as Porto Santo Stefano and the beautiful islands of Giglio and Giannella. You can also head up into the mountains to visit Monte Amiata, a family-friendly ski resort in winter and a good spot for hiking and mountain biking in summer. Closer by, the Saturnia hot springs and historic towns like Sovana are about a 10-minute drive away. The place itself is enchanting, immersed in unspoiled nature.

A peaceful farmhouse out in the Maremma countryside, with lovely green surroundings, centuries-old olive trees, a pool, and a relaxing view. It's furnished with care and attention to detail.

We felt very comfortable here. The landlords were really friendly, and the kitchen was well equipped, with lots of dishes and plenty of space. It's a little secluded, but there are many places nearby.
