B&B A Casa dei Nonni

We’d stayed here before, so we knew what to expect when we came back to Enna a few months later and booked Casa Demi Nonni again. The apartment was clean, modern, and comfortable. We liked the simple self-service breakfast, and check-in took only a little of the owner’s time, leaving us more time to ourselves. We’d come back again.

The common area had everything needed to put together a decent breakfast, and my room was clean, comfortable, and well organized. Parking can be tricky in the historic center, which is perhaps the one small drawback. For the price, though, I was very happy with my stay.

The host was extremely kind and helpful, and it was handy having the breakfast room just across from the bedrooms. My room and bathroom were medium-sized, with the bathroom in good shape and recently renovated. The central spot in upper Enna made it easy to visit the Enna Cathedral, the Castello di Lombardia, and the Torre Federico II. I also suggest a walk on the Bellavista terrace for the fantastic view, and there are a couple of restaurants worth trying, including ones I reviewed. My main criticism is breakfast. The self-service setup is convenient and gives you flexibility about when and how to eat, something I’ve enjoyed at other places. But the selection needs work. The fruit could be better in both quality and variety, packaged croissants really don’t do it, and they should offer fresh pastries like cakes, as well as cereals. It was nice that plant-based milk was available on request. I know a better breakfast takes more effort, but a B&B should provide one that’s up to standard. I’m not asking for a hotel breakfast. With those few improvements, I’d have rated the place four stars 😊

The baby at the grandparents' house is nice, though it could use a little maintenance. It's centrally located, with plenty of restaurants and pizzerias nearby.
