C.C.Ly Rooms & Hostel Enna

The best part for me was the lovely view from our room, the Messina Room, and the breakfast room had a great outlook too. The rooms were clean and modern, and the Wi-Fi worked well in the daytime, though it stopped working later at night. We found the place on Air B and B when we needed somewhere to stay in Enna on the way to our destination. It seemed to be a hostel in the process of becoming a B&B. We had arranged a reception time, but waited half an hour for someone to arrive even after calling the numbers we were given. It's unsettling as a traveler to be left wondering whether your accommodation is secure. Still, I think the place has potential.

The kitchen opens onto a lovely terrace, with a spectacular view across the valley to Mt. Etna. The hostel is also well placed by the main square, the city belvedere, and the facilities you might need. The building feels very new, is clean, and has stylish decor. I had a great stay. Thank you Poalo & Vittorio for being so kind.

The bed was broken, and the owners didn't help. They also shouted at us for taking three small rolls instead of two, even though there was no notice saying guests could have only one roll at breakfast. The website listed homemade marmalades, Etna honey, cheese, lemonade, and biscuits, but we didn't see any of those during our five days there. The owners were unfriendly and seemed to have a problem with everything. We found insects in the room after the first night and got red spots on our skin. There was a rule asking guests to keep quiet after 8 pm, yet the owners themselves were shouting. The location is nice and not far from the center, but I wouldn't recommend this hostel. We paid to stay there and felt as if the owners were angry that we were there. Afterward, we stayed for free with an Italian man who reminded us that people can be kind without expecting anything in return.

The staff were lovely, and the facilities were nice. It's in a good part of town, with the important places all within walking distance.
