I’m sorry to leave a negative review, but the cameras in the shared areas made me feel as if I was being treated as a potential thief. If you welcome people into your guest house, I don’t think you should see them that way. A kitchen under camera surveillance feels like a cheap, demeaning way to treat someone who has come to discover the culture, share knowledge and experiences, and bring money into the country. Why do it? I think it’s a foolish way to run a business. If guests are all potential thieves, why not use scanners or stop and search everyone at the entrance? We’re all slowly slipping back towards fascism. That worries me far more than a teaspoon possibly ending up in someone’s suitcase.

The owner was friendly and waited for us to check in. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the facilities were clean. There’s a small balcony where you can have morning coffee while looking towards the castle. Street parking is nearby.

The owner makes a delicious Sicilian breakfast, and the room with a balcony has an incredible view. It’s a lovely place with a well-designed interior, right at the top of the old town. I recommend it twice over.

We only stayed one night as a stopover, but had a really positive experience. The staff were super friendly, especially Linus, who put real effort into serving breakfast. Can 100% recommend 🔝
