The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to have breakfast, with a beautiful outlook. We were satisfied with our stay in this BB. The room was dated but clean. Vesuv is reachable on foot from here, about 15 km away.
Handy location close to the Ercolano ruins.
The only thing we liked was being a little nearer to the center and the excavations. We won't be back. We had to park far from the house because there wasn't enough parking underneath. The owners came and went as they pleased, and there was no shampoo like in the photos; we were only given towels on the first day. In the shower we noticed a rusty iron smell, and it was noisy too. We arrived, paid the tourist tax, and were then told the rooms weren't ready, even though one had already been booked. Check-in was at 5 PM and they wouldn't let us in earlier, despite our telling them some of us were sick. We were told we should have informed them in advance if we wanted to come back.
The location was convenient for the archaeological site, local amenities and the Circumvesuviana. But the property is on the fourth floor with no elevator, something missing from the description and not mentioned when we got in touch. The listing also didn't say the tourist tax was extra. When I asked to pay by card, they said there was no card machine and asked for cash, saying a bank transfer would take two days. We stayed five days. Nobody came to clean, change the towels or take the rubbish. The TV only picked up the first three RAI channels, and there wasn't even soap or a shower gel sachet. We paid €50 per person per day for two double rooms used as singles. One room was a lot smaller but cost the same as the larger one. Breakfast was meager: four toasted biscuits in a box, two little jams, a yogurt, a small coffee and a jug of water. No croissants, brioches, tart or donut. My friend asked for milk one morning and didn't get any, so after two days we started going to a café for it.
