There’s so much history in this mountain-top town, and the restaurants serve delicious food even this far up. It made me wonder how everything gets brought up here and how the few people who live here manage.

Erice really deserves a visit at least once in a lifetime. It’s a jewel of traditional art and culture, with a rich history, medieval monuments, churches, and even a contemporary art centre. Perched like an eagle’s nest, it gives you breathtaking views over Trapani and the coast stretching to the Egadi archipelago. To me, it’s one of Sicily’s most enchanting places.
What a marvelous place, high on the mountain, with astounding views across a large part of Sicily. You can climb to the top of the structure for a VIP-like spot to watch the sunset. Definitely recommend.
We drove out and found somewhere cheap to park, then spent the afternoon on a gorgeous beach in a lovely town. The ice cream and coffee were both gorgeous. Loved every minute, then drove back to our hotel.
A lovely medieval town high on a mountain. Give yourself an hour to wander around and take in the view from the top.
