Il Fienile

The barn is quiet and away from the crowds, and Elena & Francesco have done a lovely job renovating it. The entrance, foyer, rooms, bathroom and balcony are all decorated with a gentle touch. The homemade breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety each morning. Elena & Francesco were wonderful hosts throughout our four nights. They even got up at 4:30 am to make breakfast because we had an early checkout for our flight from Marco-Polo airport. Whenever we needed anything, even when we were away from the B&B, they responded right away. Thanks for such a great experience. Sharon & Itzhak

Waking up to the panoramic Apls through the windows was breathtaking. The place is spacious, modern and clean, and Francesco and his fiance are a caring, lovely couple who did everything they could to make our stay amazing. They also bake delicious bread and cakes themselves!

If you're doing the Alpe Adria, stay here instead of Udine. The owners give you a warm welcome and put so much care and hospitality into their bed&breakfast. We could charge our eBikes inside, which was great with a bit of rain overnight. The renovated building sits among fields with mountain views from the bed, and there's a mosquito net so you can sleep with the windows open. When booking, ask for the balcony room shown in the photos at the end of the wing. The rooms and bathrooms feel well above four-star level, beautifully renovated, and there was nothing we needed. I even got ideas for my own house. We slept wonderfully after dinner at the nearby restaurant Castello, which I'd highly recommend too. Breakfast was a lovely surprise, arranged just for us with so much care. The owner's wife bakes the cakes herself, and we had our own pear crumble with a tasty cappuccino. We'll ask her for the recipe! I wish there were more places where the owners put this much love into making a stay feel perfect. Don't miss it!

There's plenty to explore nearby, from breathtaking ancient Roman sites to mountain walks among stunning lakes and trips along the coast. Il Fienile itself is magnificent, and some rooms look out over the Dolomites. Elena and Francesco are lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast is generous, with sweet and savory choices and different pastries baked fresh each day. I've already stayed twice and am heading back in October! :)
