Locanda Marzi

As a Via Francigena traveller, I was really well looked after. The set menu was all cucina povera, and it nearly brought me to tears because it reminded me of my mother's cooking.

If you want a break from the busy cities nearby, this is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the Italian countryside. I stayed in Faicchio, Campania, with mountains and fields all around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the hosts were incredibly welcoming, and the homemade food was delicious and good quality. The owners kept checking that we had what we needed. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to Faicchio.

Locanda Marzi sits in a quiet spot just off a main road, so it’s peaceful but easy to reach. From here, nearby towns, cities, and events are accessible. The staff know the local hills well and can advise on mountain and road cycling as well as trekking. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the food was delicious. It’s a magical place to stay, and I’d highly recommend spending a night or two here.

We’d been out walking in the area when Google pointed us to this agriturismo as the closest place to eat, so stopping there was pure chance. It turned into a wonderful discovery and one of our favorite places. The setting is surrounded by greenery, with only a few tables, which meant we got more personal attention. Soft background music added to the relaxed, pleasant feel. They serve a set menu, and the dishes were delicious. The staff were so kind and helpful. We can’t wait to return.
