Hotel Pineta

The breakfast was better than average, with the usual Italian spread of pastries, fruit and yoghurt, plus cheese, ham or salami, and eggs. One exception: the scrambled eggs were the worst I've ever had. I didn't know they could be ruined that badly :) The owners are nice and it's family-run, though communicating in English may be difficult. If you just need an affordable base while spending lots of time in the mountains, it could suit you. People with higher standards may want something else. The window views are really nice, if you get a room on the hotel's 'better' side, like in the photo.

The staff were friendly and professional, and breakfast had a satisfying range and quality. I did feel less secure because the door locks seemed poor. Noise from the hallway came through the doors and walls so clearly that it felt like I was sleeping right in the corridor. Those were mixed experiences for me, which is why I gave it three stars.

The food was very good, and breakfast had pastries, biscuits, drinks, a toaster, cheese, and cold cuts. There was parking just outside, and we had hot water late at night. The washroom was roomy and very good, though the bedrooms were so narrow we couldn't find a decent spot for our bags. Prices, location, scenery, and service were convenient, and the staff were friendly at breakfast. Still, I found it odd and disrespectful when the two women working in the restaurant mocked an old lady behind her back. That felt unprofessional.

The breakfast was poor, and we paid a lot for just one night. The rooms were tiny and uncomfortable, and you could hear people in the neighboring rooms. The hotel feels old-fashioned.
