The restaurant served great food at a good price. We didn’t get to try the cafe, though. The rooms were comfortable and full of details, and the place has an interesting story behind the cultural farm that we now understand and support. We were surprised by the city as we drove to the address, since we hadn’t really known what we’d booked, and the hotel felt very different from what the city suggested. A few things could improve the stay: some information about the location and its founders would help, the WLAN didn’t connect at all, and the shower drain was blocked badly enough that we nearly flooded the whole room.

There’s some interesting history here, so be sure to look it up. We found this B&B and restaurant in Favara very unexpectedly, and it was a pleasant surprise to find beauty where we weren’t really expecting it. Matteo was a kind, helpful host, and we enjoyed the food. Getting by with only English was a little difficult, but improvised sign language worked, and sometimes other guests who spoke both languages translated. I’m sure this will improve as more international visitors come.

The meal was below average, and they could put in more effort. I ordered pasta al aglio, which should be easy to get right. It tasted good, but there was hardly any oil and the garlic and chili seemed to be powder rather than fresh.

The menu prices didn’t match the receipt, and the owner seemed to make up the prices. They took away my half-full glass while I was in the bathroom, and I couldn’t tell what I was drinking.

The owners were super nice, and the food was delicious. We had pasta with sea urchins and meat with aruga, both perfect!
