Baglio Del Piffero

The patio at Baglio del Piffero is the part of our August stay I’ll remember most: spacious, breezy, full of plants and flowers looked after by the lovely Mrs. Luciana, and perfect for meals and long chats with friends. The apartment is rustic and island-style, but comfortable, air-conditioned, and exactly right for our group of 8. The layout gave us a double bedroom with its own bathroom, a mezzanine with another double bed, a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed reached by a few steps, plus a ground-floor sofa that quickly turned into a single or double bed and a second bathroom opposite. I slept on that sofa bed for 5 days and it was a dream. The white sheets and towels were as good as new. The kitchen and living room were tastefully furnished with island touches, including majolica tiles, a wood-burning oven, an electric oven, and an original stone sink. There was room for all of us to cook and store what we needed. The kitchen window let in air and looked onto the patio, so it was easy to pass food outside and stay connected with the people cooking. Some nights and even a few days, since it was August 10th, we used the air conditioning to make sure we didn’t miss a thing. The apartment is also very conveniently placed, a 7-minute walk from the port, 200 meters from a supermarket, and less than a 5-minute walk to the town center. The owners were fantastic and gave us lots of advice on local delicacies and which beach to visit depending on the wind. Favignana’s lush nature and beautiful sea, with all its fascinating flora and fauna, were breathtaking even in August with so many tourists around. Baglio del Piffero completed the holiday for me. I loved its simplicity, marine colors, and especially that patio, and can’t wait to come back. See you soon, Pifferi & Pifferai!
