A week here would be easy, and you could just as well spend the whole summer. Each apartment has a kitchen and a table, and the residence has several pools. The jacuzzi is up at the top, with a fantastic view over the sea. A wonderful location and a fantastic place to stay.

The room was good, and the mattresses were new and clean, though not very good quality. The pool was a little dirty and only open for limited hours. Guests can use a private dock near the harbor. The original owner is very friendly and has been running this small resort for 23 years.

Getting to and from the hydrofoil port was easy, as the friendly staff took care of our bags. Our apartment at Marettimo Residence had spacious rooms that stayed cool and felt comfortable. The place has a charming setting, a short walk from town and reasonably close to a small shady beach.

Breakfast is served under a lovely sunny shade made by a local grapevine, and it's only about a five-minute walk to the harbor. I'd pick a room with a sea view, it's really worth it. The rooms are cosy, the staff are kind, and the family-run place is probably the nicest stay in Marettimo.

Even if it may be the best place in Marettimo, it still doesn't deserve a four-star rating. This feels more like a self-catering campsite than a hotel. There's no air conditioning or service, and for what you get, it's expensive.
