Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Center

The location is incredible, and arriving by train was a surprise in the best way: the lift doors opened at the platform and the entrance was right in front of me. Check-in was easy, and the foyer is lovely and huge. The hotel is enormous, though, and hauling two suitcases across the carpet from reception to my room felt endless. Take the offer of luggage help. The restaurant was better decorated and had a decent wine and food selection. The bar felt bland and had no atmosphere. My room was the biggest letdown. The A/C was very loud, and I heard what sounded like running water all night, so I slept dreadfully. The rooms felt tired, basic, and boring for a Sheraton. I wouldn’t stay again unless those noises were dealt with.

Breakfast was delicious, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were quite far from the entrance, so getting a big suitcase there took some effort. After a long flight, though, it was just what we needed: an easy-to-find place with a quick walk over and a fast check-in.

The restaurant food was disappointing, though the staff there were polite and even offered complimentary drinks. The hotel itself is right inside the airport, so the location is extremely convenient, and check-in was quick. My room was spacious and spotless, and I appreciated having slippers. I’d highly recommend it for an easy stay.

The hotel itself was lovely, clean, and comfortable, with a good bed and nice amenities. The service staff, though, left me upset. At reception, I arrived with a backpack and was asked twice whether I wanted someone to carry my luggage. I understand it may be marketing, but it felt too aggressive and lacked empathy for the standard of service expected at a high-end hotel. At the restaurant, I had no reservation, so being asked to wait on the sofas was fine. When I asked how long it might take, the staff member said he didn’t know. That felt unprofessional. I don’t want to call him racist, but he didn’t answer my simple question and then turned to the next Italian clients with a big smile. I spoke English out of respect, since I didn’t think he needed to help me practice my poor Italian.
