These are delightful little self-contained apartments, clean and equipped with a TV, kitchenette, and washing machine. I didn’t rate the service because nobody comes to clean while you’re staying in the apartment.

I sent this message to the inn’s number overnight: I’m sorry, but this was a truly unpleasant stay. The mattress was old and deformed, with so much sagging that it was impossible to sleep, and it ruined my stay. In 2025, I certainly didn’t expect a bed to be in that condition. Honestly, it’s unacceptable to offer guests this level of quality. It’s a shame, because it wouldn’t have taken much to make the experience better.

The owner refunded one night, so we left after just one. We’d booked this studio apartment for four people for two nights, but it smelled strongly of must and dust was everywhere, including on the linens. While we slept, we felt little bites that didn’t seem like mosquitoes, maybe fleas. It didn’t look as though the place had been cleaned before we arrived. The air conditioning was old and didn’t cool the room. Being near the center didn’t make up for any of it. If you charge guests, the service and hygiene need to be there, especially during a pandemic. No good.

My parents were left in an apartment that was dirty, cold, damp and moldy, with no working bathroom or heating. The main door wouldn’t lock, the only air conditioner couldn’t be used, and the bed was in the kitchen. They’d gone to Ferrara for their 37th anniversary, on December 31, 2016, and I’d paid €315 because I wanted to make the occasion special. I use Booking.com often for work and can book around Europe easily, but there were only 3-4 options listed and the prices weren’t competitive. I didn’t mind paying more for them. The night before check-in, a woman called to say the apartment wasn’t exactly at the address on the Booking.com profile. Since it was in the city center, I thought that was fine. On the afternoon of the 31st, my mother called to explain what they’d found. The owner later came by, apparently aware of how bad the situation was, and promised compensation. Had I known the apartment was in that condition, I’d have been cautious about booking it. I’m still waiting to hear back from the property and Booking.com.
