Locanda Casanuova

We joined Barbara for a wine tasting, and her enthusiasm and stories made the wines come alive. Dinner at the property was delicious, made with fresh local ingredients, and paired beautifully with the wines. Locanda Casanuova has a cozy, welcoming feel, almost like staying in someone's home, and the peaceful surroundings have plenty of charm. It was one of the best parts of our Tuscany trip. We warmly recommend it for its food, wine, and lovely landscape.

The area is beautiful, and the breakfast had few choices but everything was tasty. I especially loved the arugula and cucumber salad. My husband had dinner at the restaurant: his pasta and panna cotta were decent, typical homemade Italian food, nothing fancy. I only had peppermint tea because the set menu options didn't appeal to me, but it still cost €29. The room was clean in the bathroom, but the sofa bed was dirty. It was attic-like and didn't look like the pictures. There are stairs in this kind of room, so keep that in mind if you have knee problems. I booked two nights but left early and lost €130 because I couldn't manage without air conditioning or a decent internet connection. It was June, and the bed was rock hard. I opened the windows, but the bugs got in and I was bitten by mosquitoes. If you enjoy nature and can do without air conditioning and TV at night, you'll probably love the beautiful setting.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food at breakfast and dinner was wonderful. We felt right at home in the accommodation, with plenty of spots to sit and unwind. It's peaceful here, surrounded by gorgeous scenery, and the area is lovely for a walk. We could gladly have stayed longer. Looking forward to coming back and trying the natural pond.

Even with wedding preparations keeping them busy, the owners were very friendly and looked after us. We loved the calm setting and garden, and the white wine was delicious. Definitely worth staying for a while, or even dropping in for just a few hours.
