The apartment was spotless, and Barbara was very kind and helpful. But the bathroom was almost unusable: huge wooden beams cut through the attic space, so you have to watch your head in both the bathroom and kitchen. The shower barely came up higher than me, and I’m 1.80 m tall. At night it was unbearably hot, with no air conditioning or even a fan, and the windows had no mosquito nets. The TV was tiny, about 20×20. There are seven flights of stairs to reach the apartment.

The accommodation is available to rent during the summer months and is on the fourth floor with no elevator. It’s in the city center, a three-minute walk from the sea, with bars, restaurants, and a supermarket nearby. The house is airy and cozy. There are two bedrooms with very comfortable beds and new mattresses, plus a new bathroom with a large shower. WiFi is included. Bikers can use a free, key-access storage area on the third floor. Everything I needed was close by, from the beach and shops to parking and the station. The apartment sits right in central Finale Ligure, and it was bright, nicely renovated, and very well equipped.
