The meals were the hardest part of our three-night stay with more than 40 high school students. Dinners were barely edible, and breakfast was shockingly poor. I expected a normal continental spread, but all we got was cheese and ham, butter and jam, and a dry, disgusting croissant. Even the coffee was bad, which felt especially odd in Italy. The staff were reasonably friendly, but as a large group we were very disappointed, and the stay was difficult to get through. Our rooms were split between the second and third floors. The second-floor rooms seemed recently renovated and were quite OK, while everything on the third floor was old and worn. The shower sprayed everywhere except where I aimed it, and there was no hot water after 10pm.

The food is excellent and there's plenty of it, and the hosts are a delight, family-friendly and happy to handle requests. We come back often because we always have such a good time. It's a 3-star hotel with standard rooms that have been recently renovated. In winter it's very warm, which makes it a lovely place to return to after a hike.

We had a Saturday night to remember, with great hospitality and an unforgettable dinner show by Carmine Faraco. A wonderful culinary experience.
