The airport taxi cost us €38, which felt pricey. We probably should have agreed on a fare before setting off, but it was late and we were tired after a long day. The drive was only about five minutes. For Fiumicino, look for the “Local Taxi” sign, since those taxis aren’t in the same line as the ones going to Rome. We arrived late and just needed somewhere to sleep, and Insula Portus was a good fit for an overnight stop. The welcome was friendly despite a small language barrier we could manage. Our room was clean and had everything needed for this sort of stay: a comfortable bed, clean bathroom with shower, A/C, and a little fridge. Breakfast in the morning had a few choices, nothing fancy, but we appreciated the fresh cornetto and freshly brewed cappuccino. The owner then offered to drive us to the airport car rental for €10. After collecting the car, it was easy to find our way back to the B&B, pick up the rest of the family, and continue our journey.

A very pleasant, friendly little hotel, and the owner was nice. It’s not ideally located for Rome or other destinations, but that can be worked around.

The owner was very kind and helpful. The location is excellent, and Fiumicino airport is only 3.5 kilometers away.
