Mondo House

Mondo House was an affordable find about a ten minute drive from the Rome Airport. We found it after reading some good reviews, and the rooms lived up to expectations: clean, comfortable for two, and had everything we needed before an early flight. There are lots of excellent food options within walking distance. I especially recommend Tarumbo for dinner. Mario was very accommodating and helped with whatever we needed. He even drove us to the airport early the next morning for much less than a taxi would have cost. We had a very pleasant stay and would come back if we’re in the area.

Mario was kind, and even drove us to the airport very early for a fraction of the taxi fare. We had told him in advance that we’d arrive late, and check-in was no problem. He’s busy, so calling on WhatsApp worked best for us. He picked up right away each time. The place was clean and spacious, and we could walk to a lovely beach in about ten minutes. We spent the day at Azul, where the beach was beautiful and the food was exceptional. There’s also an easy bus route close by, which we only noticed in hindsight. Airport taxis have a 35 euro minimum, and Ubers cost even more. The neighborhood felt industrial to me, but not sketchy. This is a simple, clean B&B rather than a fancy hotel, and you may sometimes hear people through the walls. Breakfast was the usual Italian croissant and espresso. We were very happy with the stay and got what we hoped for at a reasonable price. I’d absolutely come back.

My husband and I stayed at Mondo House for one night before catching a flight the next day. The area may look a little sketchy, but the rooms were lovely and the people there were so nice. The two men managing the hotel at night were especially kind, helpful, and sweet. There are quite a few restaurants nearby if you get hungry in the evening.
