Giramondo Gold Airport

We arrived to check in with our 4-year-old and were told we couldn’t stay unless we paid extra money that hadn’t been authorized, despite the Booking rules saying children were welcome. We weren’t asking for an extra bed and were ready to pay the city tax. The apartment we were shown also didn’t match the one advertised online. Terrible experience with Guest House Giramondo. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. Avoid this property!

The website claims there’s private parking, but there isn’t. You have to hope you can find a spot close by on the street, which isn’t easy. Breakfast was made up of poor-quality products from discount stores. After trying some, we’d rather go to a bar.

We were four and had a good stay. The welcome cocktail was pleasant and discreet, and there were the basics for a light breakfast. The main bed was comfortable if you like memory foam; the sofa bed was less so, though I guess that’s normal. Monica was friendly and helpful, and fully available for check-in and check-out, which is no small thing. We chose the place mainly because it’s a 10-minute drive from the airport. Even so, there was hardly any noise at night. A couple of things could be better for me: I’d prefer a shower to a bathtub, and there wasn’t bottled water. I think the tap water is drinkable, but I’m not used to it and had trouble with it. If we hadn’t arrived late, we could’ve bought water at the nearby supermarket.

We appreciated the welcome drink, but I would’ve liked a bottle of water in the fridge. The apartment is bright and practical, with a great location near the airport and train station, as well as a lovely shopping center. There are two very nice terraces, but they were almost unusable because they were so dirty, with what I think was bird droppings and lots of obvious cobwebs on the wicker chairs. Inside, the cleaning could’ve been more thorough too: there were footprints on the floor, grease on the bathroom door, and dirt under the kitchen cabinets.
