Silos Guest House

The only little hitch was that we couldn’t get the air conditioning on. Maybe we were doing it wrong, but it was too late to bother the owner. Luckily it wasn’t very warm, and we could leave the window open, with mosquito screens on all the windows. You can hear planes because it’s close to an international airport, though that didn’t bother us, even with the window open. The stairs are narrow and spiral around the tower, so large suitcases are awkward to carry up. We had a car and didn’t look into public transport. The location worked well for the airport and the small towns of Maccarese, Fregene, and Fiumicino. The place is clean, very well kept, and the idea of refurbishing the silos is great. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner was super kind. We met her in the morning, chatted about the idea of buying and renovating a structure like this, and she answered all our curious questions. She even offered coffee and croissants though breakfast wasn’t included. We only stayed one night, and there wasn’t anything else we disliked.
