AQA Palace

AQA was clean and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We stayed in a beautiful palace right in the center, which made it easy to visit Florence's attractions. I’d recommend a stay here.

The bed and room were quiet, cool, and dark, which made a huge difference after a long, tiring flight. The shared spaces were spotless, and the thoughtful amenities and attentive, professional staff made us feel very well looked after. We enjoyed the stay so much that, only a few hours after arriving, we were already wishing we could come back.

The room was gorgeous, with high ceilings and plenty of space. We could hear people upstairs, though, and being so central meant loud noise and shouting through the night. The hotel is cute and within walking distance of the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and other main sights. Arriving was frustrating. We’d answered their WhatsApp asking when we’d get there, but when we arrived, it was hard to get inside. Once we got in, they said we were early, asked us to leave our bags, and return at 3. We did, then waited around longer to get into the room, and waited again for the keys.

We got to the hotel at 6:30 PM and found the front door locked, with nobody inside and no staff to talk to. No check-in details had been sent beforehand. We couldn't contact the hotel ourselves, so a kind local called the number posted outside for us. After 30 minutes, we finally received a self check-in email, without even an apology. It was 35°C in Rome, and we were left outside with our luggage in the heat. The delay meant we missed our wedding anniversary dinner. The email said staff were available until 8 PM, but that clearly wasn't the case. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I found the hotel completely irresponsible and wouldn't recommend staying here.
