Cattaleya Rooms

Loved the garden. The hotel is close to both the station and the city center, and the receptionist was kind and ready to help with my requests.

Getting a good night's sleep was the one bright spot. The building has a great location and potential, but there was too little attention to guests and management. Our February 2026 stay in a quadruple room fell short in several ways. The bedside lamps had no bulbs, the refrigerator was empty even though water was listed among the amenities, and essential shower towels were missing. For a hot drink, the only option was a vending machine outside the building, which didn't feel very thoughtful. We arrived to find no one at reception, despite the stated hours saying it was open until midnight. We got through the main gate only because another guest had left it open. Reception itself was open but empty, with nobody to help. Our train was delayed, so we couldn't give an arrival time, but we also hadn't received an email with entry instructions. I had to call the manager through the Trip app before getting directions to retrieve the key from a key panel. Self check-in can work when it's clearly arranged and explained, but this felt like a makeshift fix for the lack of staff.

The room was comfortable, but the bathroom was freezing. It looked well equipped and had a large shower, though the design made it awkward to use, with weak pressure and water that kept changing temperature. The room itself was simple and not very clean. The location was convenient, about a 10-minute walk from the station, and the price was affordable compared with the average.

I've never had such a bad stay, and I wouldn't recommend it. The window was so awkward to open that I had to climb onto the bed. We had to ask for towels because none were there, and the blanket I put on that evening was covered in stains. We stayed a few weeks ago.
