Corte al Duomo by Mmega

B&B Corte in Duomo is in a lovely, charming area, and the property has a lot of atmosphere. Still, privacy and poor information about costs affected our stay, so I can only give it three stars. Our checkout was at 10:00 AM, but at 9:45 AM a staff member came into the house without warning or even knocking. It was intrusive, embarrassing, and inconvenient, and took away from the experience. Guests’ privacy and peace should be treated with more care. We also weren’t told during booking about the tourist tax adjustment. Costs should be explained clearly so people can plan their budgets. I hope Corte al Duomo B&B pays closer attention to guests’ expectations in future.

The place is beautiful and well located, but the cost and service were awful. We booked that morning at what seemed like a reasonable apartment price, then found out on arrival that cleaning wasn’t included and had to be paid in cash. It was almost as much as we’d already paid, so I ended up paying double what I’d first seen. At that total, I could have booked a hotel with all the amenities, breakfast included. The host put me in touch with her boss. When we tried to speak to him a second time, he didn’t answer our calls, though he did answer when she called. While we were still trying to sort it out, it was already past 8 PM, and they wanted another 20 euros for late entry. We’d arrived before 8, but waiting for them to show up and trying to get an explanation for what felt like a blatant rip-off took time. Asking for an extra 29 euros was shameful. There are much more affordable places nearby with better service.
