The room was huge and very clean, and the location made it easy to get around. The Duomo is about a four-minute walk away, with other tourist spots roughly ten minutes away. The man running the place was really sweet and went out of his way to make us comfortable. As two women traveling together, we felt completely safe. For the price, location and room, I honestly don't think you can do better. We'd absolutely recommend it.

The whole stay felt like poor value, and I wish we'd paid more for somewhere nicer. We were two women traveling alone, and sharing a bathroom with the owner was uncomfortable. There was hair on the sink and mold in the shower, and the shared bathroom was generally disgusting. I'm very allergic to mold, and after the first night I woke with a bad cold and have felt ill since. The B&B offered no breakfast, which makes the name confusing. We thought our booking included a private bathroom with the bedroom, but it didn't. I contacted the B&B twice before arrival to confirm both the reservation and bathroom arrangements and got no reply. The reviews may be old, since management seems to have changed. At night the hallways smelled strongly of smoke. Our sheets had light stains and smelled of bleach. Our room was next to the owner's, and we heard a lot of noise and singing late at night. At 11 pm the night before checkout, he knocked to ask when we were leaving. I didn't want to answer, as we were both in bed, but he kept knocking until we opened the door.

The place had a really bad smell, though I don't know what they use for cleaning or laundry. Street noise was extremely loud, with people talking clearly audible even through closed windows on the sixth floor. The location itself is great. They also only take cash, which seems odd for a business in 2024.

We'd gladly return if we're in Florence again. The owner was polite, very friendly, and ready to answer questions or sort out any problems. Breakfast was simple and served very well. Our room was large, tidy and clean, and the bathroom had everything we needed and was spotless. The hotel is in an excellent location and has an elevator.
